Robert de Saint Phalle is an interdisciplinary designer whose unique approach blends industrial design, sculpture, architecture, and engineering, leveraging some of the latest advances in digital design and fabrication. His practice develops innovative breakthroughs by bridging creative and technical fields. Robert's work includes products, wearables, prototypes, exhibits, and conceptual sculpture.
Robert received a BFA with honors from The Cooper Union, New York where he studied sculpture and design while taking additional classes in engineering, architecture, and computer programming. He later received an MFA from Bard College, New York in interdisciplinary 3D media and a certificate in Strategy & Innovation from MIT Sloan.
Robert collaborates with a wide range of customers in aerospace, biomedical, entertainment, sustainability, design, art, and non-profit fields. He has led cross-functional teams in the design and production of a wide range of innovative projects for clients including Harley-Davidson, Cirque du Soleil, Lady Gaga, DARPA, Harvard University, Draper, and many others.
He has taught interdisciplinary 3D/4D design classes at The Cooper Union, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Robert has also been a visiting lecturer at Harvard University, Tyler School of Art at Temple University, and University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
